How did you find Jehovah's Witness meetings?
by Vanderhoven7 ini personally have only attended a handful of meetings at kingdom halls.
i did not enjoy any of them nor was i impressed by anything that was conveyed.
perhaps others did not find them boring as i did.. nadia viotto has this to say about her experience.

Has anyone else felt like this ?
by Riley inabout three years ago , there was a son of an elder in my hall ( and i use the term " my hall " in a very loose term ) who committed suicide.
the guy was real asshole but not one deserves something like that.
i read his sons obit online.

i can well imagine a youngster--stuck at home with his overbearing stifling JW parents---taking the only way out open to him/her.

Are the statistics out yet?
by slimboyfat inisn’t it about time they released the report for the service year?
or have they stopped publishing it?
did they released selected figures at the annual meeting as they usually do, such as the memorial attendance or record number of pioneers?

Weight Loss and Insulin Control
by cofty inask most fitness coaches, nutritionists or health professionals and they will tell you that weight control is about calories in versus calories out (cico).
after all, you can’t ignore the laws of thermodynamics!.
the flaw in this simplistic reasoning ought to be obvious; a human body and a steam engine are two different things.. our bodies have evolved complex systems of control and feedback loops in order to maintain a steady interior environment, also known as homeostasis.

Interesting thread there Cofty--most of which i have heard before. I did attend an NHS sponsored course to help reduce the onset opf diabetes--as i was at risk. I have tried to alter my diet away from high carb intake--not easy though.
My regular breakfast is exactly what i shouldnt eat apparently--ready prepared high fibre cereals with added dried and fresh fruit--full fat greek yogurt and full cream milk. Once a week its a full English fry up.
My old dad always said theres no such thing as bad food--its just too much food that causes the problems.
I got my weight down from 106 kg rising--to a stable 90.
What is the ideal breakfast for me ?

Have you ever been on a congregation picnic?
by LostintheFog1999 inwere you ever on a congregation picnic?
i was on several occasions.. the arrangements were often announced from the platform after the closing song and prayer by the last elder up on the platform.. sometimes it was included in the service meeting announcements as "on saturday we're meeting at 10.00am at the kingdom hall for field service, and after field service for anyone who wishes, especially for the younger ones, we will be having a congregation picnic meeting at the beach carpark on seaview road.".
well, according to the new elders manual you won't be hearing those words again.

i helped organise a few parties--back in the mid 60's,,in Birmingham UK. Normally after the circuit assembly finished on sunday afternoon--we put the word around the teenage element that there was to be a party at so and so's that evening.
things usually got well out of hand.
i heard that the following generations took it even further--with " get out of the truth" parties.

Somehow I think nobody read the memo!
by LostintheFog1999 ini came across an old notebook of mine when we were spring cleaning our attic space.. for some reason i had written down these two references from older wt magazines.. reading over the two of them now i can only think that elders didn't pay any attention to the message either at the time or since.

Poor metabolic health increases your risk for heart disease, diabetes, and stroke.
by was a new boy init’s all a big fat lie.
more precisely a big low-fat, high-carbohydrate lie.. 'it took dr. paul marik 12 weeks to prove that conventional wisdom about dieting is a lie, and that was just to himself.
he lost 35 pounds, and cured himself of type 2 diabetes.

Research project: A study designed to explore the experience of leaving the Jehovah’s Witnesses
by Researcher2023 inas part of a psychology msc research project, i am looking for participants to take part in a study designed to explore the experience of leaving the jehovah’s witnesses.. former witnesses who were raised in the organisation will be asked a few questions about their reasons for leaving, their experience of leaving, and how their life has changed since leaving.. taking part involves completing an interview over the internet.
according to research needs, the number of questions asked in each interview may vary.
the interview will take between 5 – 90 minutes depending on the questions asked and the level of detail you wish to provide.. your participation will remain confidential and anonymous, and it is completely voluntary so that you may withdraw at any time up to two weeks after the interview.

Front row seats watching the collapse of watchtower
by Indoubtbigtime ini’m a pimo ministerial servant and i won’t fade because i want to keep my front row seats watching what happens next few years.. my predictions are that this current governing body will slowly die off and the current younger helpers will be the next gb.
they will eventually have new light that they were wrong about 1914 and the overlapping generations.. the new light will be something on the lines of the last days are now because of king of north king of south pushing each other etc etc.
they will do their very best to burry old literature and try to change the past trying to make it sound like they were right all along just as they have done for 150 years now.
